About The Provider
Dr. Mercy Ugboaja is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan). Her wealth of experience includes treatment and care for individuals with Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive-compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Substance Abuse and dual diagnosis, and more. She has worked in different psychiatric/mental health care settings and levels as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and in a State Psychiatric Hospital as a psychiatric mental health nurse. She has over 7 years of experience in the psychiatric mental health care field. Dr. Mercy Ugboaja earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Rutgers University, New Jersey; her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Monmouth University, West Long Branch, New Jersey; and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now part of Rutgers University. She had a prior academic background in the Humanities with a Master’s degree from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands; and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. She fervently advocates respect for human dignity, and provides psychiatric treatment and care with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and competence.
